Our Recruitment process

At Travelex, our recruitment process involves:

Resume Screening 

At Travelex, we receive a considerable volume of resumes each year. The screening of applications involves establishing whether the candidate has the skills to meet the requirements of the position.

Phone Interview or Unsuccessful Letter 

Having passed the resume screening stage, a candidate will receive a phone call and participate in a 15 minute phone interview. Travelex will make a decision based on interview answers to determine whether the candidate progresses to face-to-face interview.  If an applicant is not selected, they will be informed by email.

Psychometric Assessment 

Travelex uses an independent Psychometric Assessment to verify numerical, spatial awareness and verbal comprehension abilities.

Face to face interview 

Travelex will conduct either small group interviews or one on one interviews with a Retail Sales Manager. At Travelex, we focus on basing interview questions around “STAR”. We will ask questions relating to a SITUATION or a TASK and ACTIONS and RESULTS taken. Our interview process will also require you to participate in role play activities where the suitability of your skills and personality will be assessed.

Two Business References 

Travelex requires 2 up-to-date business referees. These referees will primarily be contacted by telephone. Reference checks are used to learn more about the candidate.

Insolvency & Credit check 

This allows us to know whether a candidate has ever been bankrupt or has significant debt which may pose a potential risk to Travelex.

Employment Offer 

Successful candidates will receive a verbal offer, a letter of offer (employment agreement) and Travelex Introduction pack. This will provide the new employee with all the relevant paperwork as well as general company information and policies.

Police Check 

All employees working for Travelex will undergo a Police Check as a condition of employment. Travelex Airport store employees will have their check conducted by the appropriate Airport Authority to qualify for an Airport Identification pass.

Visa Status Check 

Travelex will verify your Australian Citizenship or right to work in Australia by checking either your birth certificate or passport.

Orientation 

Once employed by Travelex, you will participate in the Travelex company induction and online training modules. Travelex employs Training Coordinators that will assist you throughout your induction and overall transition into the Travelex team.
