Buying Travel Money Online: Frequently Asked Questions
By purchasing foreign currency or a Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport™ online, will I be placing an order for Cash, Travellers Cheques or a Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport?
Orders placed on www.travelex.com.au are orders for foreign currency cash and/or for a Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport.1 You should check your order carefully before paying.

If you wish to purchase American Express® Travellers Cheques, you can do so at a Travelex Retail store in Australia. Find your nearest Travelex Retail store here.
How long can I place an order in advance of collection?

How much foreign currency can I purchase or how much can I load on a Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport?
All orders are subject to a minimum basket value of AU$250* and a maximum aggregate value of AU$5,000 over a 24 hour period (and maximum aggregate value of AU$20,000 over a rolling 21 day period).
* Please note that the minimum load amount for a Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport purchased via the Travelex website is AU$100, however, you are still required to satisfy the minimum basket value of AU$250 to complete the order. In order to do this, you may (i) load a minimum of AU$250 on the Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport or (ii) load at least AU$100 on the Travelex Multi-currency Cash Passport, and purchase the balance in foreign currency so the total basket value is at least AU$250.
Can I request for specific denominations?
Requests for specific denominations are not currently available through our on-line ordering service as the denominations are dependent on what our stores have in stock.
I made my BPAY® payment within 12 hours of placing my order. However, I realised that my BPAY payment was made after banking hours and as such, you might not receive my payment immediately. Will my order be cancelled?
We strongly encourage you to make your BPAY payment within 12 hours from the time you place your order to ensure that the payment is received as soon as possible, and that your order is processed in time for your nominated pick-up date. Our system is designed to allow for possible delays in receiving payments when orders are made after banking hours. However, we do reserve the right to cancel your order if payment is not received within 12 hours of the time your order is placed.
Can I change the pick-up date of my order?
You may choose to change or extend the pick-up date for up to twenty (21) days from the time the order was placed by calling our Retail Customer Service Centre on 1800 440 039.
Can I use a foreign-issued credit or debit card when placing my order?
Travelex only accepts Australian-issued Visa® or MasterCard® credit or debit cards.
Can I cancel my order?
You may choose to cancel an order at any time by calling our Retail Customer Service Centre on 1800 440 039. Cancellation fees apply.

If I cancel my order for which I have already paid, when do I receive my refund?
Refunds usually take up to ten (10) business days (some financial institutions may take longer to issue your refund). If you cancel your order, you will be liable for a cancellation fee. For more information in respect of cancellations, please refer to the Online Travel Money Product Disclosure Statement located on Travelex website at www.travelex.com.au. Please note that for security and anti-money laundering reasons your refund will always be sent back to the account or credit/debit card used to make the initial payment.
Can I earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points when purchasing foreign currency or a Travelex MasterCard Multi-Currency Cash Passport on your website?
You will not earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points when ordering online at www.travelex.com.au.
We may from time to time conduct special promotions where we offer Qantas Frequent Flyer Points in which case the earning and redeeming of any Qantas Frequent Flyer points will be subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant promotion.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Points may be earned on certain foreign currency transactions in-store at Travelex or via the Qantas website. For more details, please visit a Travelex store or the Qantas website. Qantas Frequent Flyer Points are not available on the purchase or reload of cash passport cards. Terms and conditions apply.
