The official currency in Lithuania is the euro, replacing the Lithuanian litas in 2015. The Lithuanian litas was circulated in Lituania between 1922 and 2015.

The euro was expected to replace the litas as Lithuania’s official currency in 2007, however did not until 2015 due to inflation and economic woes.

Lithuania joined the European Union in 2004 following its exit from the Soviet Union and eventual restoration of independence in 1993.

The most commonly used bills for the euro are the 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 notes.

Professional Service

I am a first time customer. I checked out the West Lakes (SA) booth and spoke to the service officer before actually ordering online for collection there. I was worried about getting high denomination Euro notes but she said they don't use higher than 50 Euro notes. I ordered for collection in a week's time but the order was available in about 3-4 days. I rang ahead to ensure the booth was open. The transaction was handled by the same officer I had met previously and she handled the transaction very professionally. I was pleased to receive with brand new notes.

Timely delivery and good customer service

Money ordered was available before the date requested. The staff dispensing the money noticed a small defect in one of the banknotes and was able to replace it with a note without damage hopefully saving the possibility of embarassment while travelling.

My money card actually arrived earlier

My money card actually arrived earlier, there was hassle at all. Picked my money up no problem. Would use the Travelex website and order online again.

Buying cash currency on Bpay with…

Buying cash currency on Bpay with Travelex is the best option. Better rates, and easy to pickup. I've been doing it for years, and I think its great. I'm surprised that other frequent travellers don't bother and buy all their currency last minute at the airport, or muck around with putting currency on these airline frequent flyer cards. The entry & exit rates are terrible. And they always complain about it. So its easy, just plan ahead, and Bpay your cash foreign currency.

All good

All good. Would have preferred more small notes. Only got 4x $1 then $10's next. Not too good for arriving in the USA. Might have expected you to know a bit more ( or care a bit more ) about that.
