Fiji’s official currency is the Fijian dollar (FJD), in use since 1969. It was also Fiji’s currency from 1867–1873, before being replaced by the Fijian pound for nearly a century.
One Fijian dollar is divided into 100 cents, with the most common banknotes being $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. To avoid confusion with other dollar currencies, it’s often written as FJ$.
